Banpu NEXT, a leading Net Zero Solutions provider in the Asia-Pacific region, is advancing its solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) for industrial estates, data centers, and large-scale businesses, targeting over 300 megawatts (MW) of clean power generation capacity in Thailand by 2030. The company also offers energy efficiency and carbon management solutions, alongside more reliable clean energy. This scalability builds on its success in delivering Net Zero Solutions to more than 200 commercial and industrial (C&I) customer projects nationwide*, spanning solar and BESS, energy efficiency, and commercial fleet management, these projects are expected to reduce carbon emissions by up to 100,000 tons annually. This reinforces the company’s position as a trusted long-term partner and advances it toward becoming a key integrated energy player in Thailand.

Leveraging its energy technology expertise, Banpu NEXT has delivered solar systems and BESS to leading industrial customers. Key projects include a floating solar system at the Apex Green Industrial Estate in Chachoengsao, solar rooftop system at Summer Lasalle, and solar rooftop and carport systems at BITEC BURI, Bangna. Recently, the company installed solar rooftop system with BESS at Green Rubber Energy’s tire recycling plant in Samut Prakan. The battery stores excess solar power and reduces the volatility of solar output, ensuring a stable, continuous power supply for the plant’s operation. It also improves energy efficiency while lowering electricity costs and carbon emissions. This portfolio reflects customers’ trust in Banpu NEXT as an energy partner that serves diverse industries, creating business value while supporting their sustainability goals.

Mr. Smittipon Srethapramote, Chief Executive Officer of Banpu NEXT Tech Co., Ltd., said, “Thailand’s draft Power Development Plan (PDP) 2026 aims to increase the share of renewable energy with BESS to strengthen power system flexibility and stability¹. At the same time, industries face mounting challenges from carbon regulations, ESG requirements, and the national 2050 Net Zero target2. Meanwhile, AI and data center investments in Thailand are highly power-intensive, requiring clean, reliable energy to support green data center development3. Banpu NEXT is ready to serve C&I customers and large-scale energy users with solar and BESS, as well as other solutions tailored to their needs. We currently have projects in the pipeline, including solar with BESS, Direct Power Purchase Agreements (Direct PPAs), and other solutions. This strategy will help us accelerate capacity expansion toward our target while creating strong business growth opportunities.”

Building on the Banpu Group’s diverse energy businesses, spanning power generation, energy storage, energy trading, and energy technologies and decarbonization solutions across multiple countries, its Future Tech business pillar, operating under the Banpu NEXT brand, in synergy with the Power+ business pillar, is well positioned to offer Direct PPAs to large-scale data centers. The offer combines base load power plants with solar and BESS, in line with the National Energy Policy Council (NEPC)’s approval of Direct PPA measures covering data centers, industrial estates, and businesses seeking clean energy, which fosters a more liberalized and competitive energy market4. These integrated solutions also support the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT)’s efforts to promote clean and reliable energy for Thai industries5, while helping customers expand business opportunities with sustainability-focused supply chain partners.
Additionally, Banpu NEXT is exploring investment opportunities in AI infrastructure and emerging technologies that align with Thailand’s low-carbon economy development plan.
